Rudder Pedals

Rudder pedals control yaw and often provide left and right toe-brake inputs.

Rudder pedals are used in many flight simulation setups and are especially valuable for coordinated turns, taxiing, and crosswind work.

  • sliding designs
  • rocking designs
  • pedal sets with toe brakes
  • compact desktop-oriented sets

The main axis controls yaw, while toe brake axes provide independent braking. Smooth travel, consistent centering, and low stiction matter more than raw force.

  • travel smoothness
  • centering feel
  • toe-brake quality
  • foot spacing
  • mounting stability
  • linkage friction can ruin feel even with good sensors
  • toe-brake geometry adds complexity quickly
  • wide pedal spacing needs more rigid mounts

Compact pedals save space, but they often give up travel, leverage, and realism to do it.
